Fees

Fees are based on the Fee Schedule provided by the Psychologist Association of Alberta and are due at the end of each session.

There is no GST charge on Psychological services.

Please note that the information for low-to-no cost public support services are provided in the Resources page of this website.

Assured Psychology donates one meal to the Calgary Drop In Centre for each session attended.

Fees

Starting January 1st 2023, a fee increase will be implemented for all services at Assured Psychology and Calgary Couples Counselling. These changes follow the recommended standard fee schedule increase set out by the Psychologists Association of Alberta for 2023.

Psychological Assessment Fees:

Assessment fees are subject to changes based on if additional investigation time or testing is needed. No tax is charged on psychological services.

Direct Billing:

Assured Psychology offers direct billing when available for it’s counselling, assessment, and some of it’s corporate services. Assured Psychology currently offers direct billing in most cases with:

  • Alberta Blue Cross
  • GreenSheild
  • Canada Life
  • Desjardins
  • First Canadian 
  • Chambers of Commerce
  • Johnston Group
  • And possible others, please ask at time of booking

 

Insurance / EAP Coverage

Employee benefit programs, insurance programs, or extended medical plans may cover services either in part or whole. You may want to approach your coverage program directly to see. A receipt will be issued to you following each appointment that can be submitted for reimbursement. Psychology services qualify as a tax-deductible medical receipt on your income tax.

Payment

Payment for sessions occurs at the conclusion of each appointment. Payment can be made with e-transfer (same day) or credit card only. Credit card is the preferred method. At this time we do not accept debit, cheque or cash. The credit card on file will be charged unless you request otherwise.

Missed Appointments

It is important to attend your scheduled appointments. If you have to cancel please give as much notice as you can. A minimum of 48 hour notice is required to cancel an appointment. Late Cancellations: Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hour notice will be charged 50% of the appointment fee. No-Show Cancellations: Appointments canceled with less than 1 hour notice, including no-notice at all, will be charged 100% of the appointment fee.

Confidentiality

All information is kept confidential and secure by Assured Psychology staff and following the College of Alberta Psychologists’ Standards of Practice. Limitations to client’s confidentiality do exist and are listed below. In the following exceptions Assured Psychology staff is ethically and legally required to share information with appropriate third parties.

  • It is believed that you are at imminent and real risk to your own safety or the safety of someone else.
  • A protected person in your care, such as a minor, is being put at reasonable risk of harm.
  • A legal subpoena is issued requiring the information
